Looking for Art in New York is not very hard. Finding good art isn't even that hard. There are so many awesome expressionists and painters and writers, it really blows my mind. I've been feeling a very Martha Stuart sort of "art" sweep over me lately, and after a huge slice of my homemade banana bread and a spread of some serrano pepper jam I made, I choked down a half a joint and went on an art exploration. Using my whole day today to roam the city and seek out a few people to comment on here in the "Art" section of 'Grapevine'. My brain was battered with a huge cross section of people I would love to see again.
All day I wondered up and down st.marks in L.E.S. Thru all the vendors and chess players in union square. I stopped at Bedford Ave. on the way back into Brooklyn and took a stroll up and down the block. When I got home, my roommate was already on the couch. We swapped stories on the day and got into some dinner. During the middle of cooking and watching a re run of Top Chef,
'Knock, knock, knock, knock, knock, knock', came this incessant knocking at the door.
"That must be adam" my roommate didn't flinch when he heard the knocking, maybe he was expecting it, maybe he just knows how to read peoples knocks, do I have a knock?
Anyhow, I got to the door, and there was Adam. Actually I remembered him right away, he had slept over at the house once before. I hadn't really spoke with him last time. He was carrying some paintings, oddly enough, another artist in my day of searching. He had several wood blocks he had painted, these were a few of his pieces. Some very surreal paintings of a yellow Finch. They sort of reminded me of a Miami artist I knew, Alex Yanes.
Adam William Carnes was in front of me now though, sitting on the couch we went to his online portfolio, the guys got some real talent. There is an amazingly breathtaking group of photos that have been digitally remastered by Adam, these are all old wedding photos of a certain family who had been affected by Hurricane Katrina, losing most of their earthly belongings , still, Adam was able to help them save a few of these memories. Looking at those photos really got me to help myself into a better understanding of how art can really help people in all walks of life come together. The fact that Adam was able to see the artistic value and also, the emotional value of saving these photos at the same time, really expressed to me how serious this stranger on my living room couch was with his art.It just shows how in this wonderful land of New York, you don't even have to leave your house to find good art, it can be brought right to you! So I bring to you here, Adam William Carnes www.dripbook.com/facegraf/

The film follows the dramatic structure and tempo of well known American heist films like Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid and Bonnie and Clyde. There are alternating sequences of robberies and escapes leading to an ultimate showdown with law enforcement. If it weren't for the fact that the dialogue is in French, the film would be almost indistinguishable from any other mainline American gangster thriller.read more
