 DOWN THE RABBIT HOLE:
ALLISON’S INVENTION BRINGS YOU TO WONDERLAND
CD RELEASE SHOW FOR NEW ALBUM
“SWEET AND VICIOUS” ON WEDNESDAY, JULY 27TH
AT SULLIVAN HALL IN NEW YORK CITY

“Wonder of wonders, this native New  Yorker's debut CD sounds legitimately more jazzy than  folky---smack-dab in the Laura Nyro/Ricki Lee Jones/Sophie B.  Hawkins.”
- Chuck Eddy, The  Village  Voice

“A singer with a sultry  voice.”
-Marc Santora, The New York Times

“Trying to pin down Emmy-nominee Allison  Tartalia to one genre is like trying to capture a single atom  in your hand.  As a solo artist, she has been known to  fuse jazz, rock, folk and more " sometimes all within the same  song.  She is brutally honest about her life; her songs,  thematically similar to Aimee Mann’s, are downtrodden yet  still possess a sardonic wit. You may get to know her better  while you watch her bare her soul  onstage.”
   - Brett Ackerman, Beacon  Pass

(New York City, NY) " Allison’s  Invention, formally known by her given name, Allison  Tartalia, is glancing through the looking glass at a new path  in her poignant career. A show to support her new album,  Sweet and Vicious, due for release on July 27th  of this year, will be held on the same day at New York  City’s Sullivan Hall.

No stranger to the New  York Music scene, Allison’s Invention captures the singer’s  brutally honest, and at times satirical lyrics that fearlessly  portray her failed relationships and family  struggles.

Recently up for an Emmy for her work  on the documentary 5,000 Miles From Home,  Allison is able to use her vast music skills in multiple  entertainment avenues. Her classical piano background and  self-taught guitar playing, along with the eclectic  instrumentation and complex arrangements, capture her unique  sound. Her ability to engage multiple audiences with her  fusion of jazz, chamber pop and folk makes her transcend  typical solo artist stereotypes.

Sweet and  Vicious, which Something Else says, “gives hope  for the future,” was produced by Grammy Award winner  Michael Leonhart, (Steely Dan, Lenny  Kravitz) and will be released on July 27 of 2011. This lush  melodramatic-pop album is already starting a spark in the  music world of New York.

On this project Allison  fills a void in the music industry. Allison is a woman who  knows that every line is well earned war paint. We are given a  space in which to reflect, grow and speak our own truths from  a place of learned confidence, insight and serenity. Like the  inspiration for her new pseudonym, Allison’s Invention,  provokes her listeners to get back up after a big fall, and  gain the confidence to start over on a new and improved path.  Sweet and Vicious is a project that has the  transcendent depth to put Allison’s Inventionon the  map.
