I have to admit, of all my years of flying, never, I repeat, NEVER have I had a leather seat with plenty of room - in coach no less! Last night's flight from New York to Reykjavik Iceland on Iceland Air was enjoyable and they even name their planes. The little placard affixed to the side of the plane gave a short history of the origin of the plane's name; Hengill. Named after a 100km square volcano in the south west of Iceland, Hengill gave us an enjoyable and relaxing flight.

Even more fun were the touch screens in the back of every seat, giving each passenger their own little entertainment center, complete with trivia about Iceland, tutorials on common Icelandic phrases, Video Games, Movies and real time maps of our current location.

The best feature of the map screens were the flight info maps showing you the altitude, speed and time to destination of our flight, along with real-time maps displaying the exact position of Hengill's location in real-time throughout the flight.

Lots more to come, and a run down on some of the artists recommended by the hotel concierge include "Of Monsters and Men", Rokkurro and a neo classical performer, Olafur.
