Being Healthy. Honestly, how hard is this for us to do?. I hear my own brain complain about the fact that my situation does not allow me to be healthy at the moment. I hear comments like, "I can't workout without a gym", or, "I can't run without a treadmill". Seriously?, are these your excuses?. Do you not eat healthy because you think it's too expensive?. Do you really believe that Whole Foods is the only place that sells food that is good for you? Simply said, we all know this is not the case. And yet, when was the last time you made sure to eat at least 3 times a day, eating foods like whole grains, fresh vegetables, fruit, and lean locally raised protein(in which ever matter you must consume your protein)? When was the last time you exercised 3 times a week or more?. And, living in a 4 story walk up does not count! If you are answering "yes" to these questions, then good for you! However, the most of us are still trying to do our best to work on a new years resolution that will unfortunately not last longer than the rest of this month.

So what can we do?...easy steps for the unhealthy laymen, here are a few that have been helping me;

1)Wake up and stretch, swing your arms, touch your toes, do some push ups, a few situps, maybe even some jumping jacks, you will find it is amazing how much different your day feels when you spend 10 minutes getting your blood pumping in the morning.

2) Pack helathy snacks to munch on though out the day, nuts, berries, a PBJ, a banana, very simply acquirable food that can help stimluate your senses all day.

3) WALK!!!, I have to say, for how easy it is to walk around the city, I see people, including myself taking shortcuts with cabs and trains all day long, walking can burn the calories your worried about.

I know this is just a brief cliffnotes of the things we can do for ourselves to feel better, but starting small and adding on from there is better than no start at all?...right?..So get out there, and take care of your bodies and minds, otherwise your next new year may not be so happy!
