Monday March 8th, The United States Bartenders Guild, New York Chapter is hosting the third annual Cocktail Jam at Astor Center, this years will be benefitting Tsunami Relief in the Pacific.
Here is a quote from the Astor Center web page,
"Come one, come all and celebrate a gathering of professional bartenders laying it all on the line in pursuit of the greatest prize of all...bragging rights. Twelve of the USBG's best and brightest will duke it out using their well honed mixology skills in creating the most delicious cocktail of the evening as judged by New York's most progressive cocktail minds (Giuseppe Gonzalez, Thomas Waugh, Phil Ward, and Stephanie Moreno).
Using virtually every imaginable herb, spice, berry, fruit, and vegetable, these brave twelve are competing for a $2000 scholarship to the esteemed cocktail conference, Tales of the Cocktail. 50% of all ticket proceeds benefit Action Against Hunger (Tsunami Relief) and the USBGNY, and afford you samples of the work of some of New York's finest bartenders."
The competitors this year are.:Damon Boelte, Lulu Martinez,Hal Wolin, Damon Dyer, Duane Fernandez, Rob Fuentevilla, Moses Laboy, Frank Cisneros, James Menite, Steve Schneider, Justin Fairweather and Karin Stanley.
