Winter is already in full swing and besides brisk winds, marsh mellow topped hot cocoa, and the promise of a fulfilled Christmas list right around the corner (hey, you’ve been a good girl this year!) comes your most anticipated part of the season:  boots!

Check out the following trends for this winter and you’ll be putting your most fashionable foot forward by slipping your precious tootsies into some of the best styles the fashion industry has ever seen.  It’s no wonder why the coolest months now feel like some of the hottest…

Stacked.  The higher the heels, the closer you are to heaven, right?  Well, the good news is that some of the most popular boots this year are those that sit you upon a tall, chunky heel or wedge.  Coming in a variety of styles, these boots look great when you also tie in another key trend right now:  layering socks exposed above the boot with a skinny jean tucked in.  Grab a western pair like the Lucky Brand ‘Northview’ Boot ($208.95).

Ankle.  A winter must-have, the ankle boot is here and bound to be one of the sassiest additions to your closet that will also translate into spring!  This trend in footwear is being seen in a variety of fun prints—your best bet this season will of course be leopard.  Go for the Sam Edelman ‘Uma’ Bootie ($249.95).

Riding.  You don’t have to saddle up on a stallion to don one of the most standout boot trends of the season—but you can look like you just stepped off the page of a Ralph Lauren ad.  Riding boots are the perfect casual yet polished look that are great for daytime wear and the fashion-conscious girl on the go.  Try Frye’s ‘Dorado’ Riding Boot ($57.95).

Fringe.  Right on point with the boho-chic trend, a boot complete with fringe will be sure to add just the right amount of flair to any ensemble!  Perfect with blousy dresses, prints and eclectic jewelry, you will feel fun and flirty with a little fringe adorning your feet.  Check out Minnetonka’s take on the trend with their ‘Fringed Tall Boot’—they come in an array of colors and they won’t break the bank ($89.95)!

Knee-high.  If you’re feeling a bit va-va-voom, go ahead and slip into the sexiest pair of boots that you will have no choice but to add to your collection.  Great for over skinny jeans or leggings, a pair of knee-highs also look amazing over stockings paired with a skirt or sweater dress.  Caution:  do not wear this look if you don’t want any attention or a calendar booked full of dates with drooling admirers.    Pictured is the Steve Madden ‘Vennomm’ ($249.95)

Shearling, fur & faux fur.  If you’re like most women, you probably enjoy a bit of well-place fluff.  Well, this season you’ll be delighted to know that the fur ain’t going anywhere, sister!  You are sure to see this trend in sporty styles and your classic UGG selection, but this year the ultra-hot way to rock the shearling, fur and faux fur is in dressier heeled/wedged styles.  Not only will your feet be warm and comfy in the cooler temps, but your mind will be at peace knowing that you are still the most fashionable gal in town!  You’ll be right on trend in the Vince Camuto ‘Sal’ Boot ($159.95).
