So you live in a small apartment on the fifth floor of a building in Bushwick and you think you can't have a garden. Well, I am here to tell you, you are wrong. After starting my rooftop garden last summer, I have been able to be witness to the fact that having a produce yielding garden in the city is totally viable. So, this year, my focus will be to show you what I am working with now, and how to move forward with what I know, and how you can know just as much!

First of all, the internet! this is your biggest source of "How To" instructions on pretty much anything domestic you would like to venture into. it has been my secret little bible and can work wonders for you as well.

Next is just determining what you want to grow. A tip, if you can not find seeds for what you want to grow here in NYC, then do not grow it. It probably is not suited for this temperament and will just be a waste of your time.

So scour the local gardening stores, the hardware spots, and find the little plants, flowers and herbs they have already cultivated for you to just take home and be nice to.

As you can see in the photos below, I have found that you can even hold on to a few good strains of plants that did you well in the previous season, and with even minimal light, as depicted below, you can keep a small sliver of what was grand in your garden the previous season, likely these strains that endure the cold temperament will be bountiful with fruit and produce in the seasons to come.

View the pictures below, do some research on your own, and you will be growing your garden in NYC in no time.
